As part of the Federal Nonpoint Source Pollution Management Program, marinas are being asked to develop strategies which reduce the potential for pollution from storm water runoff.  Existing marinas only need to control runoff from the areas where they perform maintenance and repair activities.  The goal of this measure is to reduce the total amount of solid material and particles (total suspended solids) found in the runoff from hull maintenance areas.
