Newark, NY, April 28, 2025 - The CSC Crosswalk tool is designed to show where there are potential overlaps between the Climate Smart Communities (CSC) Certification program and 6 water-focused programs in New York State.
The goal is to help communities save time, energy, and money by exploring opportunities for achieving points for CSC certification actions.
The tool — consisting of 8 PDF documents and 6 online surveys — is intended for communities who have or will complete activities or the requirements for these water-focused programs and want to advance their participation in the CSC Certification program.

Disclaimer
This tool was developed by Barton & Loguidice on behalf of New York Sea Grant. The statements, findings, conclusions, views and recommendations are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect the views of any of those organizations. The points listed are not guaranteed; rather, the tool identifies potential areas for points. Some CSC certification actions have sub-components and variable point levels, so there may be instances in which only one of a CSC certification action’s subcomponents overlaps with another program. In addition, some of the activities in the tool may need to be modified to be eligible for points under the CSC Certification program, especially where indicated. The places where potential synergies are indicated does not guarantee granting of points, nor are they endorsements by the associated state agencies for the CSC Certification program or related certification actions. The ultimate decisions about granting CSC points lie with the CSC reviewer.
