Wantagh, NY, May 27, 2023 - ABC 7 is helping you start the season this weekend with its special "Kickoff to a Long Island Summer," now in its tenth year.

Eyewitness News anchors David Novarro, Sandra Bookman, Brittany Bell, and Chantee Lans report from the Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach for all the high-flying stunts. Plus, get ready to experience the thrill of taking a leap with the USAF Thunderbirds aviation team.

In the half-hour special, ABC 7 has tips on what to do on Long Island all summer long.

David Novarro takes the train to Huntington and looks at all that the area has to offer around the train station.

Sandra Bookman shows us how New York Sea Grant is examining the health of the Long Island Sound and the efforts to clean it up.

"Whether it's studying what leads to harmful algal blooms or the impact of warming on salt marshes, the end goal here is the same," says Bookman in the segment.

"It's all part of providing information and knowledge to help us manage, conserve, and sustain these resources," adds Rebecca Shuford, NYSG's Director.
