Former Fellow Wins 2013 "America's Science Idol" Competition

This past February, Stony Brook University (SBU) Master’s graduate Tom Di Liberto won "America's Science Idol" competition at the American Association for the Advancement of Science annual meeting in Boston, MA. In 2008, while at SBU, Di Liberto was the recipient of the "Mattice Sea Great Scholar Travel Award."

As reported in New York Sea Grant's Winter 2012 New York Coastlines and featured in Cornell University's Spring 2012 Ezra, Jillian Cohen is our program's 2012 Knauss Fellow. Cohen joins the staff on the US House Committee on Natural Resources where she’ll work closely with the Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife, Oceans, and Insular Affairs which has jurisdiction over fisheries management, wildlife conservation, estuarine protection, and Sea Grant programs.

Knauss Marine Policy Fellow starting February 2012. She will spend one year working within the legislative branch of government with funding from the National Sea Grant College Program.
