Syracuse, NY, January 28, 2021 - While it normally would be “a-bout” that time to start thinking about summer boating, due to the pandemic that ship has sailed.

There is no doubt that this past year was unique and while we cannot attend in person boat shows, NYSG's Coastal Recreation and Tourism Specialist Dave White tells the hosts of the "Bridge Street" morning show to create your own event.

As seen in the video above, White encourages folks to be creative during these COVID-19 times and plan a weekend with the family during the winter to visit some CNY boat stores. He says you can also use this time to all take a boating class together, as by 2025 everyone will need to have their boating certificate.

New York Sea Grant (NYSG), a cooperative program of Cornell University and the State University of New York (SUNY), is one of 34 university-based programs under the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Sea Grant College Program.
