Oswego, NY, January 25, 2013 - New York Sea Grant will moderate the Clean Marina Roundtable January 30th at the 11th International Marina and Boatyard Conference (IMBC) in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
New York Sea Grant Coastal Recreation and Tourism Specialist Dave White, who helped organize the first IMBC conference in 2002, has since moderated programs at the event that is the only conference specifically geared toward marina and boatyard owners, operators, and managers as well as dock masters, harbormasters, boat builders and repairers, and industry consultants.
The Clean Marina Roundtable session at the 2013 IMBC offers marina operators the opportunity to share best management practices and to participate in mutual issues discussion. Marina managers can earn Clean Marina certification credits by participating in the session to be held from 9am to 11am in Room 305.
“The opportunity for boating industry leaders to learn more about their state clean marina programs and the value of certification is an added benefit to the overall conference program. Our industry recognizes that clean water is crucial to our business success and the marinas will have a great opportunity in the Clean Marina Roundtable to learn ideas on how to best protect their environments,” says IMBC Director of Events Rachel LaMarre.
White, based with New York Sea Grant in Oswego, NY, on Lake Ontario, is the creator of New York Sea Grant’s Discover Clean & Safe Boating Program, for which he earned a commendation from the BoatU.S. Foundation for Boating Safety & Clean Water.
The nonprofit Association of Marina Industries (AMI) produces the annual IMBC attended by more than 840 industry professionals. The 2013 conference runs from January 30 through February 1.
