As New York Sea Grant's Communications Manager, Paul Focazio manages the department and its staff and freelancers. He oversees the development and production of New York Sea Grant publications and products, writes and edits NYSG's e-newsletter (NY Coastlines / Currents), sends press releases to media, supervises Web development and participates in national and regional Sea Grant communications activities.

In more recent years, NYSG's communications efforts have been more online based, thereby shifting more of Focazio's focus on maintaining the program's content via its Web site and all social media platforms (including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, RSS news feeds). The program’s “virtual presence” features many resource sites for NYSG extension staff and a number of special research and education initiatives.
