Syracuse, NY, January 25, 2010 - The Boating Information Center with the 2010 Discover Clean & Safe Boating vessel exhibit at the Central New York Boat Show is a great spot to learn about safe, clean, and enjoyable boating in New York waters. The Center is located at the main entrance of the Toyota Building.

At the Center, New York Sea Grant, the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, Syracuse Sail & Power Squadron, Finger Lakes PRISM, New York State Canal Corporation, Environmental Facilities Corporation, Office of Homeland Security and U.S. Customs & Border Patrol provide up-to-date information and resources regarding state and federal boating safety regulations and laws, pump-out stations, and the marine environment.

Boating Industry Association of Central New York Boat Show & Sales Manager Drew Wickham says, “The Boating Information Center is a super way to obtain information about the safety and recreational equipment you want and need from our boat show exhibitors.”

New York Sea Grant has tagged the 2010 Discover Clean & Safe Boating vessel - a Grumman pontoon boat sponsored by Marathon Boat Group of Marathon, NY  - with all the gear needed to properly and legally equip a pleasure boat to be on NY waters with details about each item’s use.

“The Central New York Boat Show is the perfect place for the Discover Clean and Safe Boating display aboard a boat made right here in New York State to kick off a series of visits at boating-related and waterfront events in 2010,” says Recreation and Tourism Specialist Dave White of New York Sea Grant, Oswego, NY. “A partnership of coastal services agencies and Marathon Boat Group will be providing consumers with vital information on boating safety and regulations, cross-border boating, and New York’s terrific boating, diving and fishing destinations.”

Marathon Boat Group CEO John Jackson says, “Marathon Boat Group is pleased to participate in educating the public about how to properly enjoy boating and to display our aluminum pontoon boat that can be enjoyed by everyone in the family.”
