After five years... The beachgrass planted five years ago has now spread across the blowout. The roots of the plants have prevented further erosion, allowing sand to build up in the blowout. The snow fencing has kept people out of the blowout area and has allowed sand to build up in the blowout as well. As long as this dune is left undisturbed, the blowout will eventually fill in.
