How can dune erosion be stopped?  Keeping people out of the dunes is the best way. Wooden dune walkovers like the one in this photo help people walk across dunes without stepping on them. Sand gradually builds up under the walkover and eventually may even cover it! Putting up snow fencing and replanting beachgrass also help prevent erosion. Click here to put up snow fencing.
