Public Notice: NYSG to Undergo National Evaluation

Stony Brook, NY, October 08, 2010 – The New York Sea Grant College Program is preparing for its scheduled four-year review, slated for Nov. 17-18.

A federal Site Review Team convened by the Director of the National Sea Grant College Program will visit our program to review and discuss NYSG management and organization, stakeholder engagement and collaborative/network/National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, or NOAA, activities.

All interested persons and/or entities are invited to email comments on the management, stakeholder engagement, and collaborative network/NOAA activities of New York Sea Grant or its work at least one week before the site visit date. Comments should be sent to oar.sg.feedback@noaa.gov.

Following the site visit, the review team will produce a report to the National Sea Grant College Program and NYSG. The review is part of a larger effort by the National Sea Grant College Program to foster increased cooperation among the 32 Sea Grant programs nationwide and to understand how local and regional programs and priorities relate to NOAA and its national priorities.The National Sea Grant College Program engages this network of the nation’s top universities in conducting scientific research, education, training, and extension projects designed to foster science-based decisions in coastal communities about the use and conservation of our aquatic resources.
