Syracuse, NY, February 10, 2016 -  New York Sea Grant, the U.S. Coast Guard, and U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary have announced their in-water safety programs demonstration schedule for the February 18-21, 2016 Central New York Boat Show at the NYS Fairgrounds, Syracuse, NY. Photo: NYSG

A pool in the Horticulture Building simulates the water environment for an introduction to Suddenly In Command, a training program on what boaters and non-boaters can do in an emergency on the water.

New in 2016, Central NY Boat Show visitors will be able to watch and try hands-on underwater drone technology in daily ROV, remotely operated vehicle, demonstrations. Students from Chittenango Central School will kick off the daily 4pm demonstration on Thursday, February 18.

A 7-foot real-time aquatic data sensing buoy from the Great Lakes Research Consortium will be on exhibit at poolside.

New York Sea Grant and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary are offering the annual free Young Boater Safety Certification training required for youth ages 10-17 to operate a motorized boat or watercraft alone on NY waters all on one day in 2016 on Saturday, February 20. Contact New York Sea Grant at 315.312.3042 to register.

The 2016 Central New York Boat Show hours at 1 pm to 9 pm on Thursday, February 18 and Friday, February 19; 10 am to 9 pm on Saturday, February 20; and 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday, February 21.
